Neuroscience Intensive Care

UNC Rex Neurohospitalists

Inpatient care for your brain, spine and nerve conditions and injuries is an important part of our neuroscience program at Rex. Our hospital-based neurology specialists (called neurohospitalists) take care of patients in the hospital who have neurological issues. They’re able to admit patients with neurological conditions, then oversee their care.

Our team also serves as a regular point of contact for families and patients as they navigate their hospital experience. And they’re a vital part of UNC Rex Hospital’s multidisciplinary stroke team.

UNC Rex Neurointensivists

Getting the care you need as a critically ill patient with a spine or brain injury or disorder is vital to getting you back to the things you love. Our 10-bed neuroscience intensive care unit (ICU) is staffed by a team that has expertise in both neurological and medical intensive care.
