REX Express Care Changing Name to UNC Urgent Care, Opening New Clinics in Wake County

All locations will provide excellent medical care that’s easy to access and affordable

RALEIGH, N.C. – March 21, 2019 – The group of urgent care centers previously known as REX Express Care is changing its name to UNC Urgent Care and opening five new locations to better serve patients with affordable and convenient medical care.

“While we’re changing our name, our experienced care teams across Wake County will continue to provide the same excellent care,” said Steve Burriss, president of UNC REX Healthcare. “All of the UNC Urgent Care centers are designed to offer patients lower costs and shorter wait times than busy hospital emergency departments.”

Four existing REX Express Care centers in Holly Springs, Knightdale, Raleigh and Wakefield will remain in the same locations and phase in the UNC Urgent Care name. In April, the Cary clinic at 1515 SW Cary Parkway is moving to 115 Kildaire Park Drive.

The new centers coming soon include:

  • Apex – Beaver Creek Commons, 1059 Beaver Creek Commons Drive (Summer 2019)
  • Garner – 70 West, 1165 US Highway 70 West (Summer 2019)
  • Morrisville – Park West Village, 1104 Market Center Drive (Summer 2019)
  • Cary – Panther Creek, 10030 Green Level Church Road (Early 2020)

All of the centers will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week (excluding Christmas Day). They offer a wide range of comprehensive services and treatment of many medical issues, including minor lacerations, sore throat or strep, cold/flu, seasonal allergies, earaches, burns and more.

UNC Urgent Care also offers a free online reservation system, making it easy to schedule appointments and reduce wait times. For more information, visit uncurgentcare.org.
