UNC REX Cancer Care to Honor Survivors and Families with Free Celebration

Cancer Survivors Day event will include food, prizes, live beach music and more

RALEIGH, N.C. – May 29, 2019 – UNC REX Cancer Care will honor cancer survivors and their families, physicians, nurses and other caregivers with a free, family-friendly celebration on Sunday, June 2. This year marks the 30th annual Cancer Survivors Day at UNC REX, and will feature food, games, kids’ activities, live music and more.

Cancer Survivors Day is recognized worldwide on the first Sunday in June. It’s a day to celebrate life after a cancer diagnosis, and a chance for survivors to reconnect with their oncologists and other providers. At UNC REX, the entertainment will include beach music by The Embers featuring Craig Woolard, lots of free food, games and prizes, and a Kids’ Zone.

 

WHEN:

Sunday, June 2

3 to 5 p.m.

WHERE:

UNC REX Cancer Center parking lot

4420 Lake Boone Trail, Raleigh

WHO:

Attendees will include cancer survivors, family and friends, UNC REX Cancer Care oncologists, nurses and other caregivers.
