UNC Health Care Panther Creek Campus to Provide Expert, Compassionate Care

The campus, in northwest Cary, opens to patients Jan. 21 and will provide a multitude of healthcare services

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Jan. 15, 2020 – UNC Health Care is expanding its expert, compassionate care by opening a new medical campus in northwest Cary.

The UNC Health Care Panther Creek campus, located at 6715 McCrimmon Parkway, at the corner of N.C. Highway 55, will open for patients on Jan. 21.

“This new facility will expand our expert care to the communities of Cary and Western Wake County and make primary, specialty, and subspecialty care available at one convenient location,” said Dr. Wesley Burks, CEO of UNC Health Care. “One of our goals is to improve access to care, especially in fast-growing parts of our region where demand continues to increase.”

Services available at UNC Health Care Panther Creek, a 100,000 square-foot medical building, will include:

  • An orthopaedic ambulatory surgical center (a partnership with Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic)
  • A diagnostic imaging center (a partnership with Wake Radiology) with capabilities in X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, CT and mobile MRI
  • Family medicine, OB/GYN and midwifery, and pediatric practices
  • Specialty practices such as internal medicine, cardiology, digestive health, pulmonology, neurology, surgical services, orthopaedics and more
  • Pharmacy and laboratory services
  • UNC Urgent Care (the ninth clinic location in Wake County)

The clinical areas of the building are all designed to have an on stage/off stage or “pod” (point-of-dispensing care) arrangement, which puts the patient in the center of care. The patient is welcomed into the exam room, which becomes the focus of care activities during the visit. All care will revolve around the patient, rather than asking the patient to move about the building to receive care. Separate entry/exits allow for improved privacy for patients, as well as making it easier for physicians and staff to work together.
