Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a common procedure at UNC REX that allows medical practitioners to visualize structures beneath the skin. The technique uses soundwaves beamed into the body and reflected off of various tissues to develop a picture of the interface between solid and fluid spaces. There are no known risks to ultrasound, which can be used to screen, diagnose and aid in the treatment of various diseases.
All outpatient ultrasound is provided by Wake Radiology UNC REX Healthcare.
