UNC Health Rex DAISY Award
At UNC Health Rex, you can recognize a nurse who has gone beyond expectations to show you or a family member excellent care. Anyone – patients, families and colleagues – can nominate a nurse, nursing student or nursing faculty member to be recognized for his or her dedication to patients. Nominate your UNC Health Rex nurse for the DAISY Award today!
Created by the family of a man who received exceptional care from his nurses before dying from complications of an autoimmune disease, the DAISY Award celebrates and recognizes the everyday excellence shown by nurses everywhere. J. Patrick Barnes’ family named the award for the acronym “Diseases Attacking the Immune System.”
Each nomination is evaluated by a team of fellow UNC Health Rex nurses. The DAISY Award is presented at a ceremony before colleagues, friends and patients.
