    Roy Tempke Roy Tempke, MHA, NHA, PT

    Roy joined UNC Rex in 1993 as a physical therapist and has served in a number of leadership roles, including administrator for the two UNC Rex skilled nursing facilities and as director of care management, as well as rehabilitation. He most recently served as vice president of operations overseeing pharmacy, laboratory, rehabilitation, care management and respiratory. In his current role, Roy is responsible for the two UNC Rex skilled nursing facilities and is Chief Operating Officer for Rex Holly Springs Hospital.  

    Roy serves as president of the board of directors for NAMI Wake County (National Alliance of Mental Illness) and former board member for Transitions LifeCare.  

    Roy earned his Bachelor of Science with a certificate in physical therapy from the University of Pittsburgh and his master’s in healthcare administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  

    Roy lives in Cary with his wife and two sons. When not watching hockey, Roy enjoys cooking, running and traveling.

    Melissa began her career at UNC Rex in 2006 when she began working with the Construction and Design Services team in Raleigh as a financial analyst. Melissa was promoted to the department’s resource manager to manage off-site clinic and hospital renovations and hospital space planning in 2012. Six years later, Melissa joined the UNC Health Care System Real Estate and Development team in Chapel Hill as a real estate manager, where she continued to manage construction projects and leasing for the UNC Health Care system. In her current role, Melissa is the director of operations of Rex Holly Springs Hospital. While in Raleigh, Melissa was involved in the initial design of Rex Holly Springs Hospital and values the ability to see the hospital come from concept to reality. She appreciates now being part of day-to-day operations. Melissa is responsible for Rex Holly Springs Hospital Support Services departments, lab, and diagnostic services. As a current resident and native of Fuquay Varina, Melissa is honored and excited to serve her community and those who are most important to her.  

    Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University and her joint Master of Health Administration/Business Administration degree from Pfeiffer University.

    Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, watching the Wolfpack and working on projects around her house.

    Tonya has been with UNC Rex since 2002. She started her healthcare career as a nursing extern and nursing assistant at UNC Rex in Raleigh, NC, while she completed nursing school. After graduation, she became a staff nurse on the Pulmonary & Nephrology unit. She remained on that unit for 9 years and worked as team leader and clinical educator. Tonya then had the wonderful opportunity to serve as clinical manager on the General Medicine unit. After 6 years in that role, she was promoted to director of medicine and short stay services. As a resident of Holly Springs, Tonya is honored to have the opportunity to serve her community in her current role as director of nursing and clinical operations at Rex Holly Springs Hospital.   

    Tonya earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Leadership from East Carolina University. 

    Tonya lives in Holly Springs with her husband, two daughters and son. She loves spending time watching her kids play sports and taking fun family camping trips.
