At UNC Health Rex, we strive to provide our patients and visitors with a positive and comfortable experience. Not only will you receive excellent care, but you will have access to a number of services and amenities designed to enhance your stay. These amenities include communication items (phones, internet, television, newspapers) and dining/meal service.

Mail and Flower Delivery
Mail Delivery
UNC Health Rex volunteers deliver mail and packages to patients Monday-Friday. If a patient has been discharged, all mail will be forwarded to the patient's home address.
If you wish to mail a letter or package during your visit to the hospital, you may do so via the U.S. mailboxes located in front of the Patient Tower entrance. For a small fee, you can also send packages while you are a patient.

Flower Delivery
UNC Health Rex volunteers deliver flowers to patients Monday-Friday after 2 pm. If a patient has been discharged, flowers are returned to the florist for home delivery.
Flowers are not delivered to patients in Critical Care units.
Flower arrangements can be ordered for patients from the Korner Gift Shop by calling 919-784-2138.

Interpreters
Interpreters are available for patients with limited English proficiency and for those who are hearing-impaired.
If you need an interpreter, please notify staff.
Lost and Found
If you accidentally misplace any personal items during your stay, please check the nurses station closest to your room first.
If items have not been returned to the nurses station, you may contact UNC Health Rex Protective Services at 919-784-3333.
Tobacco-Free Campus
UNC Health Rex cares about the health of our visitors, patients and co-workers. That is why we have eliminated all smoking areas and made all UNC Health Rex locations tobacco-free both inside and out.

Waiting Areas
Special waiting rooms are available for friends and family members of patients having surgery or in critical care.
The main waiting area is located near the Patient Tower lobby and is comfortably furnished and near telephones, an eating area, the gift shop and physicians' conference rooms.
Other areas of UNC Health Rex, such as Same-Day Surgery, the Emergency Department, Radiology and the UNC Health Rex Family Birth Center, have comfortable waiting areas with telephones nearby.
