Understanding Your Bill
You may receive bills from UNC Health Rex, as well as from other independent health care providers who delivered services to you at UNC Health Rex. The following questions and answers will help you better understand the various bills that you may receive and tell you who to contact if you have any questions.

If UNC Health Rex participates in my insurance network, does that mean that everyone who provides care to me at UNC Health Rex participates in my insurance network, too?
No, not necessarily. We try our best to make sure that the independent physician groups we contract with to provide services to you participate in the same insurance networks that UNC Health Rex does, but it’s always best for you to check with each of your providers - or your insurance carrier - to make sure you know before you schedule services.

No. UNC Health Rex is in network with most major commercial insurance carriers, and participates in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Please ask your insurer – or us – in advance of your visit, whenever possible. You may be responsible for any charges not covered by your insurer.
