Patient & Family Advisory Councils
Have you or a loved one been a patient with UNC Health Rex and you want to use your experience to help others? Help shape policies and programs as a member of one of our patient and family advisory councils. Advisory councils bring patients, families, hospital leaders and staff together to create positive changes in patient care.
Current Advisory Councils
- UNC Health Rex Patient Family Advisory Council: Addresses general policies and programs affecting patients and families.
- UNC Health Rex Women’s Center Parent Advisory Board: Focuses on postpartum patient experiences.
- UNC Health Rex NICU PFAC: Focuses on neonatal intensive care unit patient and family experiences.
How to Join an Advisory Council
Members are called advisors and attend meetings to represent the voice of the patient or caregiver. You'll have opportunities to work on projects such as helping families navigate their healthcare journeys and reviewing patient education materials.
If you want to share your experiences and you value compassion and communication, you may be a good fit. To get started, email the advisory council you’re interested in. A member will reach out to get to know you, share information and answer your questions.
