Parking at UNC Health Rex

Parking in UNC Health Rex’s self-parking areas is free, and those lots are marked by signs. Valet service is also available for $10 a day. Members of UNC Health Rex Protective Services staff make frequent rounds of all parking lots and are available to answer questions or provide other assistance. They can be spotted in white-colored UNC Health Rex vehicles. For your safety, all parking lots are monitored by audiovisual equipment 24 hours a day.

Valet parking is available for $10 a day to patients and visitors at the North Carolina Heart & Vascular Hospital, the UNC Health Rex Medical Office Building near the Heart & Vascular Hospital, the North Carolina Neuroscience and Spine Center on the main campus, and the UNC Health Rex Cancer Center across the street. The service is available Monday through Friday. 

  • North Carolina Heart & Vascular Hospital & UNC Health Rex Medical Office Building: 8 AM – 5 PM
  • North Carolina Neuroscience and Spine Center: 8 AM – 5 PM 
  • UNC Health Rex Cancer Center: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM 

Pull up to the front entrances during business hours and you will be greeted by one of our valet attendants. For the UNC Health Rex Medical Office Building, please use the entrance at the NC Heart & Vascular Hospital. Our valet attendant at these three locations will park your vehicle, document where it is parked and retrieve it for you when you leave. After our valet hours, they will leave your keys with the attendant at the front desk.

Wheelchairs and other assistance are available for patients and visitors with special needs. If someone else is joining you, have them drive you up to the main entrance to get assistance. You can download a campus map with all of the parking locations at UNC Health Rex marked.

The UNC Health Rex Pharmacy of Raleigh has a convenient assigned parking spot for our customers to use when shopping with us. It is close to the main entrance next to the visitor parking deck and is only available for pharmacy customers. There is a 15-minute maximum time limit. UNC Health Rex is proud to be one of the first hospitals in North Carolina to provide plug-in vehicle charging stations for visitors and teammates. The charging stations are located on the ground floor of the parking deck, which is near the hospital's main entrance on 4420 Lake Boone Trail. 

Charging Fees 

There is a $1 fee per session PLUS: 

  • 1 – 3 hours: $1.65 per hour. A mobile notification will be sent 15 minutes before the third hour is over.  
  • More than 3 hours: $5 fee per hour  

  • Charging will stop once the vehicle is completely charged. Rates will continue until the vehicle has been removed from the charging station.
